My Two Cents
Ang Hidden Figures ay isa sa mga pelikulang napagsabay-sabay na mag-educate, mag-inspire at mag-entertain at the same time na hindi mo mapi-feel na binibigyan ka ng homework. Ikinuwento nito ang istorya ng tatlong matatalinong African-American women na nagkaroon ng crucial roles sa NASA sa isang mahalagang sandali ng kasaysayan. Na-balanse ng pelikula ang pagtalakay sa mga seryosong theme tulad ng racism at gender inequality dahil sa paggamit ng humor, warmth, at makatotohanang human connection na epektibong naipakita na hindi nagmukhang nangangaral.
Matagal ko nang nakikita ang mga snippets ng pelikulang ito sa mga youtube shorts kaya naisipan kong panoorin. At hindi naman ako nagsisi. Mararamdaman mo sa pelikulang ito ang satisfying na “undergod wins” feeling na nakabatay sa mga tunay na achievements na nagpabago sa mundo. Ito ang uri ng pelikula na puwede mo i-recommend sa kahit na sino. Nakakaengganyo ito mula simula hanggang katapusan, at ang performances ay ramdam na tunay at hindi malilimutan. Ang pacing ay steady lang pero hindi naman boring. Habang ang istorya ay tatamaan ka talaga emotionally.

There is no such thing as a ‘guilty pleasure’ in music. If you like a song, you like it. Unless it’s ‘Baby Shark,’ then you should seek professional help.
