Little Johnny’s neighbor had a baby. Unfortunately, the baby was born without ears.
When the mother and her newborn came home from the hospital, Little Johnny’s family was invited over to visit. Before leaving, Little Johnny’s dad sat him down and explained the situation.
He warned Little Johnny that if he mentioned anything about the baby’s missing ears, or even said the word “ears”, he’d be in serious trouble when they got home.
Little Johnny said he understood completely.
When he looked into the crib, he smiled and said, “What a beautiful baby.”
The mother beamed. “Why, thank you, Little Johnny.”
Little Johnny continued, “He has beautiful little feet, beautiful little hands, a cute little nose, and really beautiful eyes. Can he see all right?”
“Yes,” the mother replied. “We’re so thankful. The doctor said he’ll have 20/20 vision.”
“That’s great,” said Little Johnny, “because he’d be in big trouble if he needed glasses!”
