The life of an unsuccessful writer is transformed by a top-secret ‘smart drug’ that allows him to use 100% of his brain and become a perfect version of himself. His enhanced abilities soon attract shadowy forces that threaten his new life.
EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR MIND.
My Two Cents
Limitless taps into a universal fantasy: becoming the best possible version of yourself overnight. It’s slick, entertaining, and moves at a pace that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Even if the premise stretches believability, the execution makes it hard to look away.
I first watched this in November 21, 2012. I liked this movie so much that I even watched the 2015 TV spin-off, even though it was cancelled after just one season.
This is one of those movies that’s just easy to re-watch. It’s not perfect, but it’s incredibly engaging and stylish, and it knows exactly what kind of story it wants to tell. It works well as a “comfort thriller”, something you can throw on without needing full emotional investment but still enjoy every time.
“My brain was just pouring this stuff out.
Everything I had ever read, heard, seen was now organized and available.
Here it is. Here you go.“
Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper)
