Two New Orleans paramedics’ lives are ripped apart after encountering a series of horrific deaths linked to a designer drug with bizarre, otherworldly effects.
Time is an illusion.
My Two Cents
Synchronic is one of those quiet sci-fi films that sneaks up on you. It blends time travel with a grounded, almost melancholic look at friendship, mortality, and regret. It’s not loud, but it lingers, and sometimes those are the ones that stay with you longer.
A great way to spend two hours, especially if you’re in the mood for something reflective. It doesn’t fully land all its ideas, but the atmosphere and performances carry it through.
“You know the difference between your life and mine?
Do you wanna know what the difference really is?
Random events, chance, and luck.
Now, some people might think it’s God, or the universe, or what the fuck ever, but that’s what it is.“
Steve Denube (Anthony Mackie)
