The Missing Hair Tie

Because my daughter was using my PC, and I was already feeling sleepy, I went to sleep as early as 10 P.M. last night. I told my daughter not to turn off the PC and just wake me up when she’s done using it. I was still planning to post here the movie I watched.

Around 1 A.M., my daughter woke me up. I was still sleepy, so I just let the PC stay on and continued sleeping.

Time check: 3 A.M.

So, I woke up again while most people were still asleep. Now usually when I wake up, I tie my hair. But I couldn’t find my hair tie, the one that looks like a telephone cord. Wala sa kuwarto. Wala sa Banyo. (It wasn’t in the room. Not in the bathroom.) Not on the computer table where I usually place it. I even turned on my phone’s flashlight and checked under the table in case it just fell, but still nothing.

Eventually, I gave up looking for it. After a few “morning rituals,” I faced my PC. I posted here on my website. Watched some YouTube videos. Reflected on what else I can post about my life. Around 6 A.M., I made some coffee. Then I watched more videos on my PC while drinking coffee.

At around 6:30 A.M., I felt a slight itch on my left wrist. So I scratched it. And lo and behold – the culprit of the itch: my hair tie, which I apparently placed on my wrist (I was wearing a sweater so I didn’t see it). I just laughed. Hahaha. It’s like that joke about looking for your eyeglasses when it’s already on your head all along. I don’t know if it’s because I’m really getting old or if it’s bad feng shui to look for lost things at 3 A.M.

Time check: 8 A.M.

Makapagluto na nga ng breakfast at may pasok pa ako. Hanapin ko lang ‘yung earbuds ko. Andito lang kanina eh. (I should cook breakfast now since I still have work. Let me just find my earbuds. They were just here earlier.)

The moral of the story is brought to you by Peter Quill from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 scene

“What I’m trying to say here is…
sometimes that thing you’re searching for your whole life…
it’s right there by your side all along.
You don’t even know it.”
