What is denster project?

denster project is a digital time capsule preserving the bits and pieces of people, things, animals, places, and events that shaped, and continue to shape, who I am today. Think of it as a fresh scrapbook waiting for a new entry, a playground for half-baked ideas, or a neighborhood sari-sari (convenience) store where you’re free to loiter and inspect the goods without buying anything.

In short: I don’t really know what this project is all about, and at this point, I’m too afraid to find out.

Why Does This Website Exist?

  1. Preservation: This is my way of archiving the things that matter – cultural nuggets, funny memories, and random knowledge. As I get older, my memory is becoming less “high-speed broadband” and more “dial-up connection.” I want this site to be a diary for the things that make me happy before I forget them. That way, when I eventually do forget, I can come back here and be pleasantly surprised by my own life.

  2. Community: For people on the same “trip.” If you enjoy nonsense stories, pointless jokes, media throwbacks, or random pop culture tidbits, you’ll feel right at home.

  3. Helping Fellow Pinoys: In my own little way. Seriously. When I was starting this site and was thinking of what to post, one of the first things that crossed my mind was explaining every trending meme on my social feeds. It sounds pointless, but I know there are Pinoys who ‘Like & Share’ posts they don’t actually understand because they’re too shy to ask what’s funny. I want to be their knight in shining armor – explaining why a post is viral, or what ancient hieroglyphics like “ROFLMAO” or “¯\(ツ)/¯” actually mean.

  4. Monetization: They say there is a very, very slim chance of earning from blogging in 2026. So… ¯\(ツ)

What You’ll Find Here

Think of this website as a variety show with different acts (and hopefully, eventually, some paid commercials):

  • Trivia: Facts that are useless for exams but great for winning arguments at a drinking session. Heavily researched!

  • Information: Useful knowledge that contributes to progress, specifically for the Filipino people.

  • Free Stuff: Legal freebies scattered across the internet, because the best things in life are libre (free).

  • Jokes: Old-school classics, a few “green” (suggestive) ones, vintage text jokes, and forwarded emails from 2004.

  • Quotes: From movies, books, famous people, and conversations I definitely eavesdropped on.

  • Reviews: Movies, TV shows, music, or anything someone might have actually paid me to talk about.

  • How-To Guides: Practical tutorials, like “How to Google things you should already know.”

  • Personal Stories: Tales that may or may not have happened in real life. (Don’t fact-check me).

That’s the plan, anyway. But we all know that promises plans are made to be broken.” This is a hangout spot that doesn’t take itself seriously. Some posts are light; some are nostalgic. Most are poorly written. But everything comes from a place of curiosity and fun.

Note: I will try to post in my best carabao English. Apologies in advance because I’m not pluwent, flooent, flowent Ah basta (It just is), I’m not.

Looking Ahead

What’s next? Honestly, anything goes.

For example: Did you know the longest name for a fish used to be humuhumunukunukuapuaʻa? That’s what I learned by joining non-academic quiz shows in college. But when I double-checked the spelling, I found out it’s been dethroned by the lauwiliwilinukunukuʻoiʻoi.

That is the kind of top-tier, life-changing content you can expect here.

Closing Thought

If you’re reading this, thank you for being part of the journey. Blogging might not be “trendy” anymore, but I believe it’s still one of the most personal mediums. This is my little corner of the web, and I’m glad you’re here.

As Friedrich Nietzsche said, “The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time.”

That, in a nutshell, is what I hope this project will be about – for me, personally.

When I’m really old, I’ll visit this website (assuming I can still afford the domain and hosting by then). I’ll rediscover the things I’ve long since forgotten. I’ll remember the people who still owe me money. I’ll see my own posts “for the first time” and laugh at my favorite corny jokes all over again.

I’ll find myself smiling like a crazy person in the dark corner of my ancient, dusty house… rocking back and forth in a chair that’s missing a leg… squinting at this website through a phone screen so cracked it looks like a spiderweb… all alone… while aggressively counting my tons of money. =P

And I hope you smile, too, when you accidentally stumble upon this place. Remember that if we’re both happy… that’s two less lonely people in the world.

So without further ado, welcome to the denster project.

Tara, kuwentuhan tayo. (Come on, let’s chat.)
