Pinoy Salesman in America

Boss: Do you have any sales experience?

Pinoy: Sir, I was a salesman back home in Manila.

The boss liked the Pinoy, so he gave him the job.

Boss: You start tomorrow. I’ll come down after we close and see how you did.

His first day was tough, but he managed to get through it.

Boss: How many sales did you make today?

Pinoy: Sir, just ONE sale.

Boss: Just one? No! No! No! Our salespeople average 20 to 30 sales a day. If you want to keep this job, you’d better do better than that. By the way, how much was the sale?

Pinoy: $101,237.64

Boss: $101,237.64?! What on earth did you sell?

Pinoy: Sir, first I sold him a small fishhook.

Then a medium fishhook.

Then a large fishhook.

Then a new fishing rod and some fishing gear.

Then I asked where he was going fishing, and he said the coast. So I told him he’d need a boat. We went to the boating department and I sold him a twin-engine Chris-Craft.

Then he said his Honda Civic couldn’t pull it, so I took him to automotive and sold him a 4×4 Blazer.

Then I asked where he’d stay. Since he had no accommodation, I took him to camping and sold him an igloo 6-sleeper camper tent.

Then he said, “While we’re at it, I’ll throw in $100 worth of groceries and two cases of beer.”

Boss: You’re not serious! A guy came in for a fishhook and you sold him a boat, a truck, and a tent?!

Pinoy: No sir… actually, he came in to buy Tylenol for his headache…

…and I said, “Fishing is the best way to relax your mind!”
